Aaron Prosser bounced back from a difficult Winton weekend by taking his first Mazda RX8 Cup pole position and winning all four races at Morgan Park.
In Race 1, Prosser was initially challenged by Will Harris before Harris fell down the order with a spin at Turn 2, allowing Ben Silvestro into second place ahead of Terry Lewis.
Prosser drove to an unchallenged win from Silvestro in Race 2. After struggling with brake problems in practice, qualifying and Race 1, points leader Stephen McLaine salvaged a third-place finish ahead of Lewis and the recovering Harris.
Aaron Prosser sealed his first Mazda RX8 Cup round win with another two victories in Sunday’s races, holding off Terry Lewis and Will Harris.
The opening race was interrupted by a Safety Car intervention after Ben Silvestro, who finished second in Saturday\’s races, suffered a brake failure at Turn 4. The resulting impact with the wall ended Silvestro’s weekend, but also allowed Round 1 winner Stephen McLaine to finish third overall and maintain his championship lead, despite lacking the outright pace of the front-runners.
