The 2015 Kumho Tyres NSW Sports Sedans Championship headed to Goulburn’s Wakefield Park for the second round of the season. As always there was plenty of great racing, with a few curveballs thrown into the Championship fight. Grant Doulman suffered a horror weekend, contact in qualifying damaging his car, before major engine failure saw his race 1 charge come to a holt meters from the line.
Simon Copping was able to take his first victory in the ex Jack Daniel’s V8 Supercar, while Championship leader Birol Cetin charged through the field to second place. Cetin would take victory in the two other races of the weekend, with 2014 Championship runner up Steve Lacey battling clutch issues to valiantly make it to the line in all three races and continue scoring points.
